PG Podcast 7 - Neha Narula on bitcoin and the future of digital currency
July 2016 (perspective of an assistant professor)
Neha Narula (@neha) recently graduated with a Ph.D. in computer science from MIT CSAIL and is now working across the street in the MIT Media Lab on technologies for digital currency. She has a ton of experience building large-scale distributed systems, first as an engineer at Google and then as a grad student in the MIT Parallel and Distributed Operating Systems group.
In this PG Podcast, we discuss the future of digital currency such as bitcoin. Although I've heard about bitcoin informally before, Neha gave the best and most accessible explanation that I've seen so far. We ended our conversation by zooming back out to explore how Neha developed her technical taste and how she serendipitously found her way to working on this timely topic.
